Well packaged. Easy to setup. Bought this for my twin granddaughters and they love it. The ice cubes from their refrigerator were a little too big for the shaver. We used the crushed ice option on their refrigerator and they worked great. They love the shaved ice with and without flavorings.Easy to take apart and clean as well.

"Hey, mom, can I make snow cones?""I don't know; can you?"When this thing works, everyone loves it. It's fun. It's cute. It makes a pretty dang good approximation of a true snow cone. That is, when it works.Now, it always turns on. The motor works. It's easy to put together and get it running. However, whether or not it actually shaves the ice is left up to the finicky gods above. Sometimes the ice piles up like that Mario Party game. Everyone cheers. Sometimes the motor runs and the ice spins in circles and...nothing happens. No shaving. No cheering. Which will happen? Only time and effort will tell.No matter how many times we use this, we can't figure out the "trick" of getting the ice to shave. Leave the ice out for a few minutes? Maybe it'll work. Throw the ice in straight from the freezer? Maybe it'll work. Put three cubes in per section? Maybe it'll work. Fill the whole ice receptacle full to increase pressure? Maybe it'll work.In a way, it's actually a chilling allegory of the randomness and relative futility of life. Unfortunately, all we really wanted was snow cones, so the allegory leaves a bitter aftertaste.
